• Hon. A. Maitland Stenhouse, of Alberta, Canada, who has been staying here for some time, took a trip to Salt Lake city on Monday.
• The Stars and Stripes floated to the breeze from the top of the postoffice yesterday.
• A young man from Farmington would have been the first to have the honor of occupying a cell in the city hall for an infraction of a city ordinance yesterday, had not his tears worked upon the feelings of our marshal who had not the heart to close the iron door, and therefore released him.
• The public square reminded a person of a Fourth of July celebration yesterday.
• William H. Blood and Miss Eunice Robins were united in marriage at Logan on Wednesday.  On Thursday evening a reception was tendered them at the home of the groom’s parents.  A very pleasant evening was spent, and the best of wishes extended to the happy couple.
• The farmers have commenced to cut lucern, and the prospect is one more week will see us well started haymaking.  The crops are very heavy and there is no danger of a scarcity of hay next winter.
• Royal C. Barnes gave a very pleasant party to a number of his young friends at the home of his parents Thursday evening.  The evening was spent in sumptous repast, social chat, games, etc., The whole was a very pleasant affair, at the conclusion of which all went home well satisfied with their evenings enjoyment.
• The town wore a holiday appearance yesterday.  In the morning the brass band went to the depot and escorted the Ogden cricket club, who played a friendly game of cricket with the Kaysville eleven, to the square.  Wickets were pitched about 11 o’clock. The game resulted in a great victory for the Ogdens.  The Kaysville boys have not been organized only a few weeks.  This being considered the boys certainly equipped themselves admirably.  A game of baseball was also played with the Kaysville Juveniles, and a juvenile club from Farmington.  The score showed the Farmington kids to be the victors.  The kids got beat all round yesterday, but it is needless to say they had as much fun as the more fortunate.
